Cristiano Ronaldo Pays $83,000 For 10-Month-Old’s Brain Surgery
In an incredibly generous gesture, Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to pay $83,000 for a 10-monthr-old Real Madrid fan’s brain surgery.
Detractors think he’s vain, he worries too much about his looks, and has too many cars, too much money, too big of a head, however, Cristiano Ronaldo seems to also have a pretty big heart as was proven by his amazing generosity.
One of the most successful and talented soccer players of our times, the 29-year-old certainly makes more than enough money from playing soccer and many more millions from endorsements by some of the biggest companies in the world.
In many cases, being a multi-millionaire sports star doesn’t necessarily translate into being a giving person, but in Ronaldo’s case he has proven once again that his fans have reason to admire him not only because of his skill, but his giving ways.
The Real Madrid striker was asked to donate his cleats and a shirt in hopes of raising funds for 10-month-old Erik Ortiz Cruz, who has cortical dysplasia — a brain disorder that can cause up to 30 seizures a day — and can only be treated with surgery.
The family was trying to raise money to pay for the costly medical procedures. Each test Erik needed costs $8,300 and the operation is $83,000.
Cristiano Ronaldo was approached by a friend who knew about the little patient’s situation and he not only agreed to donate the cleats and shirts the family requested, but said he would take care of the cost of the entire operation.
Is that amazing or what?
According to Futbol.as.com, this is not the first time Ronaldo has stepped it up to help someone in need in Spain, in his native Portugal the cases are too many to mention.
The verdict on Twitter was unanimous, Cristiano’s gesture left people speechless and pleasantly surprised:

Even though Cristiano Ronaldo inspires both admiration and scorn nobody can deny the worth of the gesture the striker had towards the very young Real Madrid fan who thanks to the Portuguese player will have a chance at a normal life.
