Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Drop Dirty Dancing Video
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s declarative, sexy, cool, dance video set to John Legend’s 2005 hit “Ordinary People“ ends all the speculation.
The video creatively and playfully acknowledges the couple’s reunion, which Justin also underlined at the South By SouthWest Festival this Sunday in a surprise appearance, dedicating one of his songs to “my baby” while looking at Selena to the side of the stage.
In the new video, one of the first thing that strikes is the open sexuality of the couple.and its significance for their new public image.
At one point, Selena is pinioned against a studio wall by Justin before straddling him in the dance.
In the past, the ‘Jelena’ of old always maintained a certain chasteness despite public kisses at award shows. This was mostly done so as not to alieniate Justin’s audience of young girls.
However, in the two Instagram videos uploaded by the “Baby” star late Monday and since removed, the sexy choreography could be seen as Bieber and Gomez’s way of sending a message to fans that their relationship has moved on from the public property of ‘Jelena’ to a more intense level that is theirs alone.
This may well be a relief to Selena. Dating one of the world’s best known heartthrob’s came at a high price for brunette beauty who was targeted online by some of Justin’s fans and sent vicious comments.
Speaking to Kansas Radio’s 93.9’s Dave O last November while on her Stars Dance tour, Selena said,
“I get it every day. I get it every single day through internet bullying or cyberbullying.”
She continued, “It’s not a healthy thing. But at the end of the day I surround myself with people who love me for me. That could be one person or three people, as long as you have someone that you know that loves you for you – that’s what I always tell my fans.”
Justin performs shirtless in the video with low riding, baggy shorts, and a backwards cap.
Selena wore a crop top, fitted tracksuit pants and trainers with her hair loose, as the pair move through a sequence of interlocking dance steps matching the romance of “Ordinary People.”
Perhaps the sweetest touch is the song choice, as it seems to speak to Bieber and Gomez’s own love story.
“Girl i’m in love with you /This ain’t the honeymoon / Past the infatuation phase/ Right in the thick of love…” before a chorus:
” We’re just ordinary people / We don’t know which way to go / Cuz we’re ordinary people / Maybe we should take it slow (sic).”
Bieber flew to Texas-born Selena’s side in McAllen on Friday, a day after he testified in a testy deposition related to a civil assault suit filed by a photographer against Bieber and one of his bodyguards.
At one point when questioned about Gomez in the hearing, Bieber fired back at the lawyer grilling him,,
“Don’t ask me about her again,” several times, before leaving the room on the advice of his lawyers.
Since his arrival, the young couple have been inseparable. Seen dropping PDA all over Rio Grande Valley, notably Justin and Selena were seen kissing and hugging at locales in the area, including the Action Dance Studio in McAllen where they danced in a rehearsal space and probably filmed the videos Friday evening.
Texas-born Selena performed her first concert since checking into rehab in January for 14 days, previously pulling out of overseas tour dates — by playing the BorderFest 2014 at the State Farm Arena on Saturday.
Justin praised his girlfriend’s show the next day, tweeting,
Saw a great show last night ?

On Sunday after Selena finished her show at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo, she and Justin joined Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun at the Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden in Austin.
The acoustic night was hosted by Scooter Braun and it kicked off the music portion of the SXSW Festival with his artists, including Tori Kelly, Cody Simpson, Rixton and Dan + Shay.
As mentioned, Justin dedicated his song “As Long As You Love Me” to Selena and sung freestyle including a stripped down version of “Boyfriend” and a cover of Ryan Beatty’s “Every Little Thing.”
Possibly missing the buzz of touring, Justin has since teased the idea of doing a proper acoustic set at SXSW now that Dan Kanter, his musical director is in Austin. Kanter has hinted a show could take place Tuesday or Wednesday.
In which case, batten the hatches.
had fun the other night performing. now that @dankanter is here maybe we should do another acoustic show. maybe
