Biggie Smalls: Murder Case For Notorious B.I.G. Unsolved But ‘Not Closed,’ Says Ex-Wife Faith Evans
Biggie Smalls’ death occurred 17 years ago to the day, and this anniversary is being commemorated by various rappers. But the ex-wife of Notorious B.I.G. is still trying to figure out who murdered the rapper even after all these years.
In a related report by The Inquisitr, Biggie Smalls’s ghost appeared in a TV show called House Of Wallace.
For those who might be too young to remember (I guess that makes me old), International Business Times relates the basics of the crime that shook the hip hop world:
“The rapper, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was murdered on March 9 in 1997 after he left an after party hosted by Vibe magazine…. Smalls was fatally shot while he was in a GMC Suburban with his entourage stopped at a red light. A black Chevrolet Impala SS pulled up next to the vehicle and the driver fired shots at the Suburban. Four of the shots hit Smalls. The first three weren’t fatal, according to the autopsy report, but the fourth and final shot punctured several organs. He was 24 years old when he died.”
The who and why of Biggie Smalls’ death remains a mystery that haunts rappers to this day. Smalls’ ex-wife Faith Evans even spoke recently about the unsolved murder case:
“We just basically stopped spending our money on trying to hope that the LAPD was gonna do, you know, their part. You know what I’m saying? It’s not closed. It’s just a matter of when they really feel like they wanna do the right thing ’cause we in our hearts kinda feel like we know what happened and we believe that they know what happened. You know, we’ll probably be the biggest case in the city’s history.”
Diddy is now 44 years old and he’s been using Twitter and Instagram to commemorate the anniversary of his friend’s death:
Today we are showing love and appreciation for BIG. Watch our special on my brother @ 6p, 10p, & 1am (EST) only @RevoltTV

Rapper Young Dro also released a song entitled Notorious D.R.O. in memory of Biggie Smalls. Game also took to Instagram to say, “Today 17 years ago, The King of NY was murdered in Los Angeles. His legacy & music lives on. Rest In Paradise….. #Notorious.”
