Bruno Mars Brisbane Concert Cancelled Due To Illness
Bruno Mars has fallen ill during his Australian leg of his “Moonshine Jungle” tour and as a result, his Brisbane show has been canceled.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the sold-out show at the Brisbane Entertainment Center has been canceled, but fear not! The show has been rescheduled for March 13. Promoter Live Nation reportedly made the announcement on Thursday.
The Herald Sun reported that a spokeswoman for the promoter said that she did not know what illness struck Bruno Mars, but that the rest of his tour would go on as planned. The tour reportedly will start up again with a show in Sydney on Saturday.
Bruno Mars has been a constant presence in entertainment news since making his way back onto the Billboard 200 chart following his performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. According to an earlier report by The Inquisitr, the singer’s first album, Unorthodox Jukebox, sold between 70,000 and 80,000 copies in the seven days following the Super Bowl. Doo-Wops & Hooligans also jumped several notches on the Billboard 200, selling an estimated 16,000 copies in the span of seven days.”
“Mars also conquered the iTunes chart following his appearance at the Super Bowl. His 2012 album occupied the number one position, while Doo-Wops & Hooligans landed at number three. The soundtrack to Disney’s animated hit Frozen found its way between the singer’s extremely popular records.”
Bruno Mars’ “Moonshine Jungle” tour have been selling out quickly, including his Australian leg of the tour. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that since his show at the Super Bowl, the singer’s two albums have gone platinum.
Those who had tickets to the show at the Brisbane Entertainment Center will be able to use their tickets at the rescheduled show on March 13. For those unable to attend the new show, they are being urged to contact Ticketmaster before 5 pm (Australian time) on Tuesday, March 11 to arrange a refund.
Bruno Mars’ “Moonshine Jungle” tour will continue on as scheduled with five more scheduled stops in Australia before heading off to Asia, the US, and the United Kingdom. Check out the following dates for the rest of Mars’ Austrian leg of his tour:
