Elsa Pataky’s Baby Bump Draws Fire From ‘Fashion Police’
Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth are generally considered a couple of very good looking people. That is why the criticism of Pataky during the Oscars’ red carpet walk by Joan Rivers on her Fashion Police how has been raising so many eyebrows.
Rivers is known for making less than politically correct comments about the clothes that various stars wear at these kinds of events, but some feel she may have gone to far when she started making fun of Elsa’s pregnant belly.
The Pataky’s stomach is rather large, that can be dismissed by the fact that she and her husband, Chris Hemsworth recently found out she was carrying twins. Elsa is also quite a ways into the pregnancy, saying they new babies are due in a few months.
During a post Oscars episode of Fashion Police, Rivers and the rest of the show began discussing the size and shape of Elsa Pataky’s stomach. As Cosmo points out, the conversation quickly took a rather ugly turn led by the host and joined by George Kotsiopoulos.
Joan started off the discussion on Elsa saying, “I’m sorry, look at her tummy! She is HUGE. I know why she’s huge. I saw her sonogram.” It was at this point that Kotsiopoulos felt he needed to jump in with his own comments about Pataky’s girth. “The last thing I wanna do is rip on a pregnant woman. That doesn’t look like a a baby bump, it looks like a beer belly.”
Other members of the Fashion Police panel decided they would skirt around the Pataky’s pregnant belly issue and instead talk about the fashion choices Elsa had made. US Weekly reports Giulianan Rancic and Kelly Osbourne both focused on the dress the model was wearing with neither being very big fans of the gown.
“It’s just not the appropriate dress to wear if you are pregnant. You have to go with an empire style, or just dress like Olivia Wilde,” Osbourne said, “beautiful baby bump, but beautiful in a different dress.” Rancic added that whether Pataky was pregnant or not, she just didn’t like the dress.
For her part, Elsa seems to be taking her pregnancy in stride and with a sense of humor. On Monday, Pataky was photographed during a Baywatch themed spread in a red sports bra and red shorts with her baby bump sticking out prominently. Elsa Pataky’s sense of humor showed through when she painted and decorated her tummy to look like the kind of lifesaver that lifeguards throw to people who are struggling in the water.
