Lindsay Lohan Admits Reality Show Is Last Shot At Comeback, Clashes With Oprah In Pilot
Lindsay Lohan’s turbulent lifestyle always looked to be the perfect fodder for reality television, so it was no surprise when Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network decided to film the actress for a series after she left rehab last year.
The first trailer for her series, which is simply entitled Lindsay, has been released, and it shows that the Mean Girls star did not adjust smoothly to the genre.
OWN has promised audiences an “honest, no-holds-barred account” of Lohan’s toils, as well as “an intimate, unflinching look” at her life.
The first preview shows that Lohan’s diva attitude threatened to almost ruin the project, and Winfrey even remarks of her antics, “This is exactly what everybody said was going to happen and I believed differently. You need to cut the [expletive].” Oprah also told Lohan, “My truth is that I really do want you to win. You need to cut the bulls***, you really do.”
Lohan states in the clip that she realizes this is her last chance to resurrect her floundering career, and she brazenly remarks, “I know this is my last shot at doing what I love to do.”
Meanwhile, Lohan also candidly admits in the docu-series that her partying ways are in the past, as her life of excess has reached its zenith.
“There’s nothing left in having a drink for me,” the 27-year-old noted. “What’s left in that feeling? Nothing. There’s no party I haven’t gone to, there’s no person that I haven’t hung out with, there’s no situation that I haven’t, you know, been exposed to.”
However, Lohan still struggles to keep herself free of debauchery, as her sober coach even hints that she hasn’t remained sober since her release. After being asked if Lohan had enjoyed a drink recently, her coach simply sighs and hesitates as a response.
Lindsay, which will premiere on OWN on Sunday, March 9, is described as follows:
“Equipped with a new personal assistant and sober coach, Lindsay moves into a New York hotel and begins the challenging search for a new apartment.”
Lohan also admits that she is her own worst enemy, as even when “It’s good, good, good, good” there is still something in her “head that like, ‘Time to sabotage.'”
The trailer also sees Lohan admit that she feels like a “prisoner” because of the constant harassment she gets from the press, while she is also seen confronting her father, even erupting at him, “For a long time you weren’t good for me.”
