Emily Lambert, Dallas-area Teacher, Found Dead in New Mexico
New Mexico Authorities have confirmed the worst case scenario relating to Emily Lambert, 30, the missing Dallas-area school teacher. Lambert, a third grade teacher at O. Henry Elementary in Garland, Texas, had been out of state visiting a friend and vanished on Saturday night. Her body was found in Loving, New Mexico, a small town outside of Carlsbad.
Police said Lambert’s boyfriend, 33-year-old Robert Earley, was arrested around 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Carlsbad police department on three charges; murder, tampering with evidence, and being a fugitive from justice. Earley is being held on a $1 million cash-only bond in New Mexico.
Emily Lambert, a mother of two young daughters, was reportedly visiting her new boyfriend, Earley, in Carlsbad for the weekend when she was reported missing. The 30-year-old was last seen leaving a bar in Carlsbad around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night. A CBS affiliate reported that Lambert’s boyfriend reported her missing Sunday morning. Lambert’s parents have indicated that he told them he was with Emily at the bar, but they got into a fight and he didn’t see her after that.
Lambert’s cause of death has not been released.
Previous to the discovery of her body, Lambert’s family had set up a Facebook page searching for her. The family released the following statement after the tragic discovery:
“The essence of Emily is with God. Our family thanks each and everyone one of you for your outpouring of love, prayers, and support over the last few days. It is with our deepest sorrows that we report her body has been found. We don’t know any specific details at this time. The detectives will contact us sometime tomorrow. We will use this time to collect your thoughts with our families. Thank you.”
The Richardson school district, where Lambert worked, also released a statement:
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the loss of an RISD family member, Emily Lambert, a third grade teacher at O. Henry Elementary. Our condolences to her family, friends, students and coworkers. Grief counselors will be on hand at O. Henry on Wednesday.”
The Carlsbad Current-Argus reported that Lambert’s body was found in the same vicinity of where another homicide victim’s body was found in November. That woman’s husband and a friend face charges in her death. The two cases appear to be unrelated.
At the present time, no details have been released as to the motive for this horrific crime, or how the crime was carried out. As New Mexico authorities release additional details of the alleged murder of Emily Lambert, the Inquisitr will keep you informed.
