The Batman: Arkham Knight game is officially underway, and it’s back under Rocksteady’s control. Apparently the glitches and “been there done that” gameplay of Arkham Origins turned enough gamers away that the original developer decided to finish off the series alongside Warner Bros Games.
Yes, the fourth game in the Batman: Arkham series is expected to be an “explosive finale.”
With two notable villains possibly out of the game forever, one of which has plagued Batman since the series began, there will indeed be a new villain. The main villain of the Batman: Arkham Knight game won’t be Hush, though.
It was previously reported by The Inquisitr that Hush, or Dr. Thomas Elliot, had picked up where he left off in Arkham City , having taken the identity of Bruce Wayne and made him a murderous criminal out of revenge. That storyline may still be involved, but it could be yet again one of the side quests that made the second game such an addicting experience even long after you beat it.
The new main villain was announced in the online retail listings of Game.co.uk (since removed), where it appears that an old favorite will be returning in a storyline that mirrors the beginning of Christopher Nolan’s film series. Some of us are hoping there will be more missions involving Scarecrow hallucinations much like in the first game.
You read that right: Scarecrow is back, and he has some angry supervillains in the wings waiting for their chance to take the dark knight out once and for all.
Leak! Rocksteady returns to Batman with Batman: Arkham Knight. Adds Batmobile: The next Batman game is Arkham Knight: http://t.co/fG9NM9pTJl

The official listing for Rocksteady’s new Batman: Arkham Knight game on the retailer’s website used the following description:
“In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever.
“ Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City.
“Be The Batman.”
Batman delivered quite a beating to the Penguin last time, and if Joker is really dead, Harley Quinn is going to be more ready than ever to give Bruce Wayne’s alter ego a return beating. The possibility of finally using the Batmobile could open this game up to explore a larger area than ever before, and thanks to the game coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, we can expect a lot more than even Arkham City gave us.
Are you excited about playing the fourth chapter in the saga? What do you hope will be added to the Batman: Arkham Knight game?
