Scarlett Johansson Confirms Pregnancy: Where Does ‘Avengers 2’ Fit In?

Now that Scarlett Johansson has confirmed that she’s pregnant the question remains, what will happen with Avengers 2? It was unexpected news when the story broke that Johansson was expecting a baby with her fiancé Romain Dauriac, and while this is exciting news for the actress, the future of the Avengers 2 immediately came up as she was expected to start shooting the film in the next few months.

Johansson, who’s due in August, will have to move a few things around to accommodate a new schedule for Avengers 2. In a few weeks the Don Jon actress will be gearing up to begin a press tour for her film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Once the press tour is finished the Black Widow star will be put into a fast track for immediate filming on the Avengers 2.

In a move that will perhaps avoid any complications for Johansson and her pregnancy, a source close to the production said that the studio is currently rearranging its shooting schedule so they can shoot Scarlett in the film earlier than initially anticipated. A source told E!, “They’re going to fast-track her scenes.”

The shooting day for Scarlett Johansson is now slated for April 5 which will be extremely close to the end date of her promotional tour for Captain America. Since the news broke of Johansson’s pregnancy the studio hasn’t openly commented on what they plan to do in terms of filming.

Johansson’s pregnancy comes as a bit of a surprise, but one that seems to be a very happy moment in the actresses’ life. Scarlett and French journalist Romain Dauriac announced their engagement back in September with their representative adding that they were “very happy.” Before settling down with her fiancé, Johansson was married to actor Ryan Reynolds and then moved on with Nate Naylor.

Of her relationship with Dauriac, the actress told Esquire back in October:

“I didn’t think I was a jealous person until I started dating my current, my one-and-only. I didn’t think maybe in the past I didn’t have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn’t capable of it or caring that much.”

The last we heard from the Her star on her relationship was during a January appearance on Good Morning America. At the time Johansson said that planning the wedding was “far off.” I’m not doing any wedding planning.”

Looks like now we know why Scarlett Johansson is stalling on the wedding.
