A PS4 GTA 5 release has now been spotted on sale on a Portuguese online retailer’s website. However, much like the GTA 5 PC rumors from before, it is yet unconfirmed. Rockstar has not officially announced either port.
That won’t stop gamers from catching the rumors and begging stores in their own countries to sell the game for their own consoles or computers. The rumors of Grand Theft Auto 5 coming to PC and next gen consoles have been running rampant since the game was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last fall. Some enterprising hackers have even taken code from a cracked copy of the game and found references to PC files , possibly meaning that Rockstar isn’t telling us everything.
Rockstar Games has not confirmed the PS4 GTA 5 release or the rumors of Grand Theft Auto 5 PC ports.
The overseas online retailer has stated otherwise when questioned about their listing of the PS4 GTA 5 release. Their translated response arrived, “We have the information that Worten stores will sell the game in question .”
Could other countries be getting special treatment? If so, why? Grand Theft Auto has always been based in US cities, so they would literally have to change names just to make them appear more local.
Another possibility is that these sites promising Grand Theft Auto 5 on platforms Rockstar hasn’t announced are following the Field of Dreams philosophy. They may be hoping that if they list it, it will happen. This seems unlikely, considering that Amazon had the GTA 5 PC port listed ever so briefly, and Amazon is known for their honest listings.
Nobody outside Rockstar Games knows what’s really going on with the future releases of the game that won seven Guinness World Records in its first week of sales.
Many of us with next gen consoles who may be considering eventually retiring our Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles are hoping Rockstar’s bestseller arrives on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. PC gamers are hoping Rockstar eventually confirms that they won’t need to buy a console to play Inquisitr ‘s 2013 Xbox 360 game of the year .
So many hopes surround the potential of an Xbox One and PS4 GTA 5 release, and what feels like a lengthy wait for confirmation over the Grand Theft Auto 5 PC port.
Is Rockstar actually making these ports and keeping quiet about it? While they haven’t confirmed anything, they haven’t denied it either. Whatever is happening, listings like the one found on the Portuguese online retailer’s website keep popping up and giving us hope that we can finally put our last gen systems to rest.
