Beyoncé Knowles probably has more money in her bank account right now than most people probably realize. However, this didn’t stop the singer from getting a chance to shop at one of her favorite stores for free.
According to the Daily Mail , Beyoncé recently paid a visit to the folks at Topshop in London. Arcadia Group CEO Sir Phillip Green — who owns such prominent retailers as Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, and BHS — allowed the singer to take anything she wanted from the London location. Not surprisingly, Knowles spent three hours adding several items to her extensive wardrobe.
The Sun reportedly spoke to someone with knowledge of Beyoncé Knowles’ epic shopping spree . Although she definitely has money to spare on things like clothes and accessories, the folks at Topshop understand the power of having a celebrity wear items from their store.
“She decided to go on Thursday on a night off from her Mrs Carter Tour and took along her entourage and baby. Bey picked up clothes for herself, friends, family and her daughter, all for free,” the insider recently dished.
The source added, “The star and her team were also given a sneak peek of Kate Moss’ new Topshop collection, due out later this year. By the time they left, unnoticed by passers by, and headed back to her hotel, it was gone midnight.”
Of course, this certainly isn’t the first time Knowles went on a wild shopping spree wild spending some quality time in London. New York Magazine reported back in 2011 that Beyoncé spent 90 minutes on Oxford Street grabbing a wide variety of clothes. However, that spree wasn’t free; Beyoncé reportedly coughed up over $14,000 during that excursion.
“It was like that shopping scene out of ‘Pretty Woman.’ Everyone was gobsmacked at the speed she was choosing clothes. When she hit the shoe section she picked up even more speed. The woman clearly loves footwear,” a source explained at the time.
Beyoncé didn’t just take a trip to London for the free clothes. She also performed a show at the O2 Arena, a gig that included an appearance from her famous husband Jay Z. The trip to Topshop was no doubt the icing on an already tasty cake.
What do you think about Beyoncé Knowles’ and her epic shopping spree through London’s Topshop? Are you surprised that the singer didn’t have to pay a dime for the clothes she picked up during those three hours?
