George Lopez Arrested For Public Intoxication In Casino

Actor/comedian George Lopez was reportedly arrested for public intoxication at a casino in Canada.

Lopez was performing standup at the casino but was found was not standing up, and instead passed out, on the casino floor, after his set.

According to TMZ, “Law enforcement sources tell us Caesars Windsor security alerted police to the Lopez situation — presumably after they found him on the floor — and officers subsequently arrested him inside the casino bar at Caesars Windsor. No charges are being filed against Lopez — we’re told he was pretty much dumped in a drunk tank to let him sober up.”

A picture that purports to be Lopez on the floor of the venue found its way to Twitter.

A Windsor (Ontario) police representative told People that “We can confirm that at 11:25 p.m. Windsor police officers received custody of a male from the OPP Casino Enforcement Unit. The male was subsequently released with no charges.”

Evidently Lopez performed at the casino the following night as scheduled.

In a statement about the Thursday night incident, Lopez, 52, quipped that “Tied one on last night. Not feeling great this morning. I was trying to sleep it off, unfortunately, it was on the casino floor.”

The Casino Windsor website notes that “Caesars Windsor welcomes George Lopez’s hilarious antics and roll-on-the-floor-laughing comedy show… The multi-talented comedian has had a dynamic career spanning television, film, standup and late-night television.”

Windsor is located across the Detroit River from the city of Detroit.

The new George Lopez sitcom, Saint George, premieres on the FX network on March 6. He was formerly the host of Lopez Tonight on TBS from 2009 to 2011. He starred in the ABC sitcom George Lopez from 2002 to 2007.
