Dunkin Donuts Tribute, ‘Dunkin Love’, Called The Best ‘Drunk in Love’ Parody Yet
Dunkin Donuts has captured the hearts of many… so much so that it’s the topic of a new viral “Drunk in Love” parody.
In this new parody of Beyonce’s hit, “Drunk in Love”, actors Reggie White and Adrian Anchondo tell the world just how much they love Dunkin Donuts and how happy they are to see the restaurant chain branching out and making their way to the West Coast.
According to The Independent, the whole point to the four and a half minute Dunkin Donuts tribute really was to celebrate the restaurant chain’s “intention to open more chains in Southern California and encourage the company to keep expanding.” A lot of Beyonce’s more sensual lyrics end up rewritten and turn into very cleaver verses such as:
“I get hungry when I see that billboard baby. I been thinking, I been thinking, why can’t I have you on the West Coast baby, I want you. Open all night and everything alright, no complaints cos I heard Dunkin will soon be in my sights.”
The Independent also points out the creative way the crew reworked some of the original song’s lyrics. What started off as “Cigars on ice, feeling like an animal with these cameras all in my grill, flashing lights” becomes “coffee on ice, feel like an addict when I smell it on the grill, donut bites.”
Anchondo did reveal on his Facebook page that this video was done purely for the fun of it, saying that it was created with the use of $100, “a whole lot of good friends, commitment and a love of making people smile.” He continued on to say in another post: “It’s amazing what you can do with $100, burning sage, some scissors, friends and dedication. Now all we want is the Queen herself (aka: Beyonce) to see the video.”
Even though the video has gone viral, with nearly 155,600 views since being posted to YouTube on February 25, Anchondo is still cracking jokes about it. In fact, he made a joke of it when he posted to his Facebook saying, “Ummm when you google Beyonce, our video is the first thing that pops up. I’m frightened.”
Now I’m not sure about you guys… but this video does have a few awkward moments, but in all honesty, it’s those awkward moments that make the video worth watching, right? I mean… what is a parody if it isn’t a little weird! If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Dunkin Donuts parody yet, well you are in luck! Check it out below and tell us what you think!
