‘Big Bang Theory’ Star Knows Quick Wedding Looks Kind Of Odd

Big Bang Theory favorite Kaley Cuoco Sweeting’s character has often been portrayed on the show as playing it a bit fast and loose when it comes to sleeping with her beaus. The actress wants the world to know that Penny isn’t a true to life depiction of the person she really is, even if her short engagement and wedding to Ryan Sweeting might hint otherwise.

Making an appearance on The David Letterman Show Monday, the actress admitted saying “I do” to the tennis pro on December 31 probably seemed like a hasty move to those on the outside. The pair got married just six months after they first met, but Cuoco Sweeting says they were simply that sure they were destined to be together.

“We actually met on a blind date. I had never met him, and he had really never met me. He still tells me he had never seen the show (the ultra-popular Big Bang Theory), he didn’t know who I was,” Cuoco told Letterman of Sweeting, 26.

Despite the fact that the two didn’t know each other that well, even when they actually started dating, they were engaged just three months after that initial outing. The actress admitted that the quick time frame from first meeting to exchanging of vows surprised some of her friends. Among those had to be one of the costars on the show, Johnny Galecki. Galecki and Cuoco met while filming their series and soon struck up a long term romantic relationship.

The romance was ironic of course, because Galecki’s Leonard holds a candle for Penny since the first minute of the first episode of the show. The two characters have now been dating for quite a while, but Penny and Leonard have not repeated the quick run to the alter on the Big Bang Theory that Sweeting and Kuoco did in real life.

Despite what she admits was a rather quick dash to the altar, it doesn’t appear the actress has lost any kind of standing with her fans. The former Charmed actress says she was blown away by the number of fans that were waiting for her outside the David Letterman show.

The blonde bombshell said she was almost surprised by the number of people who ended up knowing she was engaged shortly after her now husband proposed. The Big Bang Theory love interest says she had to keep telling Sweeting she had no idea why so many had found out so quickly.
