Pizza Hut In West Virginia Closed After Urination Incident
The Pizza Hut in Kermit West Virginia has reportedly been closed after the manager was caught on camera peeing in the restaurant’s kitchen sink. The manager was caught on the restaurant’s surveillance video.
In an earlier report by The Inquisitr, the restaurant’s manager can be seen walking to the sink, unbuttoning his pants and then urinating in it. Needless to say, this action is disgusting on all sorts of different levels, especially because this is reportedly the same sink that the employees use to wash their utensils.
According to the Huffington Post, Pizza Hut Corp. spokesman Doug Terfehr said the decision to close the Kermit West Virgina Pizza Hut was made on February 19, the day after the surveillance video surfaced.
Pizza Hut officials were extremely embarrassed by the actions taken by the former employee, and by the fact that the video went viral.
“First of all, we are embarrassed by the actions of this individual,” Pizza Hut said in a statement. “Pizza Hut has zero tolerance for violations of our operating standards, and the local owner of the restaurant took immediate action and terminated the employee involved.”
This isn’t the first unsanitary thing to happen in a Pizza Hut. In another report by The Inquisitr, an employee from a Pizza Hut restaurant in Erwin, Tennessee allegedly spit on a pizza belonging to a police officer who she had had a previous run in with.
Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Frank Rogers claims that he witnessed Pizza Hut employee, Amanda Engle, look at him as he was waiting for his food. He claims she recognized him from 2012 when he cited her with a DUI-related charge. After recognizing him, Rogers claims that Engle spit on his pizza.
“As the defendant removed the pizza from the oven I observed her cut her eyes and look at me,” Rogers said in the police report. “The defendant then leaned over the pizza that she had (started) to slice and I observed her spit on the pizza which had been purchased by me. I immediately called her attention to the matter and (asked) her if she knew me, she replied ‘yes you’re Frank Rogers.'”
Engle was later arrested and faced misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct. In the case of Kermit West Virginia, the former manager was fired after the surveillance video surfaced. Even though the restaurant claimed that the event took place after business hours and that no customers food had been contaminated, they still decided to permanently close down the restaurant.
