‘American Horror Story’ Season 4 May See A Familiar Face Departing Series
Now that American Horror Story: Coven has wrapped up, and more tidbits from interviews are circling the internet, some interesting information is being revealed about the upcoming season of the show. We already know that season four will be actress’ Jessica Lange’s last, but now it seems as though another actress, Lily Rabe, might have already gone through her last cycle of American Horror Story.
It’s been confirmed that Rabe is heading to a new ABC drama series called The Visitors. While other actors have gone off and done extensive work, like Zachary Quinto with his Broadway run, it’s different from being involved in another network show.
The Visitors is being described as a sci fi drama that will follow the story of the Earth’s race against the clock to defeat an alien enemy who is out to destroy the world. According to TV Line, Lily Rabe is set to play Claire Bennigan, who is a Child Specialist and has to deal with the FBI following her closely as she examines strange cases involving children and an imaginary friend named “Drill.” Apparently “Drill” may not be an imaginary friend after all and might just be The Visitor.
So what does this mean for American Horror Story? For one it may mean that Rabe is off the show for good if the new ABC show does well, but since we don’t know a ton about the new season of American Horror Story, we don’t exactly know if this changes any major story lines that Ryan Murphy has planned. Our best guess is that Lily Rabe was involved with the ABC series before discussion was brought up about the upcoming season.
As far as the upcoming season goes, Ryan Murphy explained that the next season will be set in two time periods — 1950s and contemporary.
During an interview Murphy teased the audience :
“If you look historically what happened in 1950, there’s some more clues in that year. It’s a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we’ve done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I’m very excited.”
Another actor that may not be up for a season four of the FX series is regular actor Evan Peters, who has been featured on all three seasons of the series. Peters revealed in an interview with Vulture that he’s uncertain about his future in the upcoming season.
“I have no idea yet. But I definitely like that they’re continuing on with the lighter side of things.”
