Taylor Swift And New BFF Lorde Spend Weekend Shopping, Hitting The Beach

Taylor Swift and her newest BFF, music sensation Lorde, were seen hanging out on the weekend shopping in Los Angeles and hitting the Malibu beach.

The pair — who have very different styles — seem to have hit it off and are now spending a lot of time together and were seen in deep conversation during some of their outings.

Apparently the two spent the weekend together and on Saturday they were seen walking barefoot on the sand at the beach in Malibu, Taylor Swift, wearing some dress shorts and a long sleeve blue button down shirt, while Lorde wore a black skirt and a sleeveless blue shirt tied at the waist.

They were seen smiling when their picture was snapped by the paparazzi and Lorde even waved a smile and a “hi.”

“Looks like they are really becoming friends!” a source told Us Weekly. “My girlfriend saw them at Paradise Cove together this weekend. They were laughing and joking around together.”

It appears that Taylor Swift, 23, and Lorde, 17, may have had a sleepover, because they were also spotted on Sunday, shopping in the Los Angeles star-friendly neighborhood of Brentwood, where they could walk around with relative freedom.

For this outing, Taylor Swift wore a very feminine black dress with a bird pattern, highlighted by a thin red belt and her much shorter hair down.

For her part, Lorde wore a black, tight sweater top and black skirt, her long, wavy hair also loose.

But the new fast friends have not only been casually seen together, they have also met at different awards ceremony in what appears to be an effort by Taylor Swift to take the young New Zealand native under her wing.

Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, known to the world as Lorde — a name that comes from her fascination with royalty — is the first New Zealand native to reach the number one Billboard Hot 100 in 2013 with her single “Royals” for which she won Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at the Grammys. She was also named the International Female Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards.

Whether we see a collaboration between Taylor Swift and Lorde remains to be seen, but for now the artists are acting like any young ladies their age would, hanging out with some friends, going shopping, and hitting the beach.
