Taylor Swift Battling Rumors About Virginity, Jake Gyllenhaal

Taylor Swift probably hates reading anything on the internet these days.

Just weeks after the singer faced a hefty dose of ridicule and mockery surrounding her appearance at the 2014 Grammy Awards, Swift has found her name in the headlines once again. Although there are definitely a few positive things happening in her life at the moment, gossip sites seem dedicated to bringing up painful events from the past.

According to the folks at Radar Online, Taylor Swift never really got over her breakup with Donnie Darko star Jake Gyllenhaal. An anonymous source said the actor left the country singer crying in a bathroom on her 21st birthday since. The insider also insists that Gyllenhaal took the singer’s virginity.

“She thought she was going to marry Jake, that’s how in love she was with him,” the anonymous source told the website.

The insider added, “The day before [her 21st birthday] — all was set — he was coming, no issues. But the day of, she doesn’t hear from him at all. No texts, no calls. Taylor thought maybe he was planning some sort of surprise. Nope. He didn’t show up and she locked herself in the bathroom and cried the entire night.”

It’s also rumored that Taylor Swift used her split from Jake Gyllenhaal as inspiration for her best-selling album Red. In fact, her tune “The Moment I Knew” is reportedly about the events surrounding her 21st birthday.

Although Taylor Swift has struggled to find Mr. Right — she was previously linked to John Mayer, Joe Jonas, and Harry Styles — the country music darling told Glamour that she wouldn’t change a thing. These experiences have apparently made the singer who she is today.

“If I could go back and give myself any advice, I wouldn’t [do it] because I’ve had such incredible adventures. I have a lot of friends who are 16, 17 and 18 and I do definitely give them the advice,” the singer explained.

However, Taylor Swift did offer up some free advice on finding that special someone during a recent chat with Top of the Pops magazine. While some people might have a hard time accepting words of wisdom from someone with a spotty track record in the ways of romance, this didn’t stop the singer from speaking her mind.

“There are no rules when it comes to love. I just try to let love surprise me, because you never know who you’re going to fall in love with. When I picture the person I want to end up with, I don’t think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I’m with them,” she told the publication.
