It has been a tough few weeks for The Hunger Games cast and crew following the untimely death of one of its stars, Philip Seymour Hoffman on Super Bowl Sunday of an apparent drug overdose.
The actor’s body was found in his Manhattan apartment, a syringe still in his arm and dozens of heroin bags scattered all over.
One of the first thoughts on people’s minds — once they got over the shock of Hoffman’s death — was what would happen to his The Hunger Games character Plutarch Heavensbee.
The studio almost immediately put fans at rest assuring them that, even though the 46-year-old late actor only had a few days left on the shoot, they would be able to work with the existing footage.
At the time of his death Philip Seymour Hoffman had finished all his Hunger Games scenes, except for one in which he was not the main character, a person close to the production said at the time.
As reported by The Inquisitr the remaining portion of Hoffman’s scenes will be digitally recreated to complete his role.
As to The Hunger Games’ Jennifer Lawrence and co-star Liam Hemsworth, the pair enjoyed a night off from filming at Watershed on Peachtree in Atlanta, a restaurant which is co-owned by Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls, where they enjoyed a southern classic dish, fried chicken.
“They seemed to be having fun with a group of friends,” an eyewitness told E! News and they didn’t appear to have any trouble in interacting with nearby followers – as “Liam did take a photo with some fans.”
Soon after Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death Lawrence and Julianne Moore were seen looking glum in between takes.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay will wrap up shortly and comes to theaters in November 21 (Part 1) and November 20, 2015 (Part 2).
