Lou Reed and Metallica Team Up to Record New Album
This Wednesday, Metallica announced they have recorded a new studio album with former Velvet Undergound member and rock icon, Lou Reed.
“Ever since we had the pleasure of performing with Lou,” the band posted on it’s official website, “we have been kicking around the idea of making a record together.”
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Reed called his paring with the famous heavy metal band
“A marriage made in heaven, I knew it from the first day we played together: ‘Oh, man, this is perfection, right in front of me.’ “
Although the currently untitled album is already completed, plans for releasing it to the public are not yet finalized, since neither Metallica nor Reed are currently signed to a record deal.
“I don’t think we’ve ever felt this free,” said Mr. Reed. “There’s nothing that’s totally outside of the boundary for us, nothing that feels like ‘Oh, what happens if we go there?’ The strength of us is it feels like we cannot land on a wrong place.”
