Alexis Bledel Plays Katherine Heigl’s Lesbian Lover In ‘Jenny’s Wedding’

Alexis Bledel is to play Katherine Heigl’s lesbian partner in the independent film Jenny’s Wedding.

A far cry from from Heigl’s 27 Dresses days, and possibly even a further cry from Bledel’s Rory Gilmore days, the film centers on Heigl’s very conservative family who seem a bit obsessed with her getting married – the traditional way of course.

Soon enough the family finds out that their daughter’s sexual orientation is not what they’d thought and that she wants to walk down the aisle with her lesbian lover Kitty (Alexis Bledel).

In one of the film still photos, Katherine Heigl and Alexis Bledel can be seen sharing an intimate moment in bed together, with Bledel’s hand on Heigl’s shoulder as they laugh and chat.

Heigl said in a press release about the movie: “This film is about a young woman’s journey to live the life that is right for her and live it proudly. It is a project that I’m so passionate about and grateful to be a part of.”

Producers of the indie film hope to raise around $150,000 via Indiegogo, a platform which could fund the music, titles, color and sound.

The creator of the film, Michelle Manning, said in her press release about the film: “Jenny’s Wedding has been a true labor of love for all involved in the production. The money we’re hoping to raise through Indiegogo will ensure that we are able to make the most beautiful film possible.”

Tom Wilkinson, Linda Emond, and Grace Gummer are also slated to star in the upcoming film.
