Christina Aguilera Now Engaged To Longtime Boyfriend Matt Rutler
Christina Aguilera will likely not be forgetting Valentine’s Day 2014 very soon. The pop princess accepted a proposal from her longtime beau Matt Rutler on the most romantic of days, and did not hesitate to share the news with the world.
The Voice coach and mentor took to Twitter for the announcement, but not before she wished all of her fans a Happy Valentine’s Day:
Happy Valentine’s Day to all my fans! Hope it is Unforgettable! #UnforgettableChristina pic.twitter.com/OOmzZbq1Sb

Then, later in the day, came this message:

That is some fine bling indeed. Also, it is not clear where this photo was taken, but that view is not bad either.
The 33-year old Aguilera first met Rutler, 27, on the set of the 2010 film Burlesque, where Rutler was working as a production assistant. Aguilera was in the process of divorcing her first husband Jordan Bratman at this point, but established a relationship with Rutler that seemed to help her through the difficult times she was experiencing. At the time, she spoke of Rutler in glowing terms and was clearly excited about the future:
“We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He’s the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it’s daylight,” Aguilera said back in 2010. “There’s a love there, yes. I’m having fun, I’m dating and it’s something I haven’t had in a really long time.”
It was clear at the time that Aguilera had strong feelings for Rutler, and four years later they find themselves engaged. According to People, an important aspect of their relationship has been the bond formed between Rutler and Aguilera’s young son Max, a product of her marriage to Bratman. Rutler has provided a consistent influence on the child, who is now six years old. It appears all of the elements are in place for a successful relationship. A source told People, “They’re very much in love and are really excited to take this next step!”
While things are going well in her personal life, Aguilera is keeping busy professionally as well. In addition to her continued work on The Voice as a coach and mentor, she recently collaborated with Lady Gaga on a new version of the single Do What U Want, which they performed on The Voice and later recorded in the studio, presumably putting to bed rumors of a feud between the two pop divas.
