Drake And Josh Star, Drake Bell, Files For Bankruptcy, Owes $1.6 Million
Drake Bell, one of the stars of the Nickelodeon show, Drake and Josh, has filed for bankruptcy.
Bell, 26, who also starred on The Amanda Show, says that he owes $ 1.597 million; TMZ has seen copies of the legal documents.
Bell says that he only makes $2,820 a month and that his expenses are $18,771.
Drake & Josh ended in 2008, Since then Bell has done voice-over work and also competed on ABC’s diving competition Splash last summer.
Drake & Josh was a TV sitcom created by Dan Schneider for Nickelodeon. It followed the lives of two teenage boys with opposing personalities, Drake Parker, played by Drake Bell, and Josh Nichols, played by Josh Peck.
Both actors had acted in The Amanda Show along with Nancy Sullivan,
The opening theme song, “I Found a Way”, was written by Drake Bell and Backhouse Mike and performed by Bell.
Actually, apart from acting, Drake Bell is an accomplished musician. He has an upcoming album in April 2014 and it will be his first album release under the record label Surfdog Records. Unfortunately, his abilities have not been matched by sales.
So far, none of his albums have sold more than a few thousand copies.
Drake and Josh was very popular in its time, and was acclaimed by critics. Some 60 episodes spanned a period of four seasons from 2004 until 2008. There were also two made for TV films.
The show is still being re-run currently air on TeenNick.
