Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, And Josh Gad Reunite For Live Frozen Video

Idina Menzel’s Frozen cast reunion included her singing a live version of the Let It Go song made famous in the Disney movie.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, unfortunately Idina Menzel’s marriage to Taye Diggs was put on ice after 10 years of being together:

“Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time. Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time.”

In the movie, Idina Menzel was queen Elsa, Kristen Bell played Elsa’s sister Ann, Josh Gad was Olaf the snowman, and Santino Fontana was Hans the villain prince. All of them got together to this past weekend to record live renditions of Frozen’s soundtrack at Los Angeles’s Vibrato Grill Jazz club. In attendance were songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, composer Christophe Beck, directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, producer Peter Del Vecho and executive producer John Lasseter. The songs were also accompanied by a live orchestra led by conductor David Metzger.

Josh Gad kept everyone laughing with jokes during the event and he performed In Summer, the song about Olaf the snowman wishing to live in the heat. Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell of course sang their duo rendition of Do You Want To Build A Snowman together, with Bell saying, “I wanted to be a Disney princess since I was five.” Bell then joined Santino for Love Is an Open Door. The audience then enjoyed a live orchestral performance of the film’s original score.

Of course, the real crowd pleaser was Idina Menzel’s Let It Go, which topped off the night. Gad introduced Menzel by saying the song was his daughter’s favorite and it was giving him a “complex.” The humor kept coming because Menzel actually flubbed a lyric by misstating “the snow never bothered me anyway” as “a cold never bothered me anyway.” She stopped the music and said, “A lot of girls say ‘a cold never bothered me anyway.’ I’m not blaming the little girls…” The audience didn’t mind since Menzel restarted the entire song, so they got to hear Let It Go twice.

Frozen’s soundtrack has been sitting on top of the music charts for weeks and is one of the best-selling movie soundtracks in quite a while. Unfortunately, besides the upcoming Oscars performance, this might be one of the few times anyone will have a chance to hear Let It Go live. Idina Menzel’s broadway career is going to be keeping her quite busy soon and several others of the Frozen cast had made similar commitments.
