Pizza Hut smells love in the air, and they’re saying they are ready to settle down and commit! So what does that mean exactly? Well, according to the pizza chain’s OKcupid dating profile, they claim they are messaged regularly in some way or another with some sort of marriage proposal, and the say they are “flattered”, and “we’re into it”.
Okay, so before you start thinking we are total wacky, this is all part of Pizza Hut’s next big promotional stunt. According to PRNewsWire , as a part of Pizza Hut’s Commit To Greatness campaign (#CommitToGreatness), the pizza brand is looking for the best proposal idea out there. “Through its #CommitToGreatness campaign, the global pizza brand is launching a contest seeking that special someone who will melt its cheese with a one-of-a-kind proposal.”
“Every day, fans tweet proposals to @pizzahut and in just the last year, the world’s largest pizza company has received more than 10,000 of these social proposals from fans in 22 countries and every state except South Dakota. Narrowing it down to ‘the one’ will be tough but it means finding someone who brings outrageous enthusiasm to everyday moments. Today, after 56 years of being unattached, Pizza Hut is prepared to commit.”
So the big pizza chain is looking for that one special proposal, but then again, it’s not really for them. For this contest customers will have to send Pizza Hut an Instagram video or tweet them a Vine tagged #CommitToGreatness by February 21st. In this video, they will have to describe their most creative proposal idea. It can be as real, or as fake as they want, or as Pizza Hut says on their OKcupid profile: “Let your Greatness flag fly. It’ll feel good”. According to PRNewsWire , three finalists will be chosen and receive a trip to Pizza Hut headquarters in Plano, Texas for a series of challenges, and other “meet the parents” activities. The winner will ultimately get free pizza for life.
“Our fans are the best and they tell us all the time via our social channels that they want to lock us in for the long run. We think it’s time to take that mutual feeling to the next level with a commitment,” said Caroline Masullo, Director of Digital Experience, Pizza Hut.
“Through the Commit to Greatness program Pizza Hut will accept someone’s social proposal. We know our fans are one-of-a-kind and we are excited to see the out-of-this-world proposals we receive in exchange for a lifetime of free pizza.”
