Britney Spears Loses Her Mic Pack During Las Vegas Show, But The Song Goes On
Britney Spears experienced a slightly embarrassing moment during one of her recent shows at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
While in the middle of her tune “Stronger” on Tuesday night, the singer watched helplessly as her mic pack came tumbling off her outfit. However, this didn’t cause any disruption in the song itself. Her vocals kept right on going as she struggled to get everything back into place.
However, Britney Spears apparently didn’t let the microphone malfunction get her down. Instead of rushing offstage to get the issue under control, the singer kept dancing while attempting to fix the situation. The whole thing was apparently captured on video and uploaded to the internet. Spears probably hates social media at this point.

As the folks at Bustle point out, it’s really no secret that Britney Spears performs to a backing track during her performance in Las Vegas. However, it’s always nice when the singer keeps the illusion going. Otherwise, people are going to point and laugh.

Rumors about the singer’s penchant for lip synching started popping up shortly after Spears kicked off her stint at Planet Hollywood. A handful of critics who caught the show on opening night were very shocked by how little Britney sang live.
“While the show’s producers claim Spears is singing along with backing tracks of her own voice, there was little evidence Britney sang a live note,” Rolling Stone noted in their review of the performance.
The folks at Billboard added, “The vast majority of the show was lip-synced, and only occasionally were any seemingly live vocals heard. There was a certain thrill in actually hearing Spears breathing into the microphone — however infrequent.”
When a source claimed last year that Britney Spears wouldn’t sing live in Las Vegas, the singer’s handlers and Planet Hollywood were quick to address these rumors. Insiders claimed management issued a so-called “cheat sheet” for crew members to follow.
“Once Britney actually gets to Planet Hollywood everyone will have to sign confidentiality agreements, but right now I can tell you the answers we’ve been given to any and all questions are extremely sugar-coated,” the anonymous source explained.
