Marshawn Lynch Dances With Himself In Locker Room After Super Bowl Victory

Marshawn Lynch may be considered a beast on the field for his punishing style running attack. Off the field apparently, he’s a beast too…just in a completely different way.

According to a report on ESPN.com, Marshawn Lynch, following the Seattle Seahawks dominating win over the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, cut loose in the locker room afterward.

“He changed from his uniform into a red jumpsuit with the words “Beast Mode” on the front, a black mask covering his nose and mouth and gold headphones on his head,” the blog post stated. “He walked to the stereo in the room, turned up the music and started dancing as reporters surrounded him to capture any expression of emotion in lieu of more formal comments.

Lynch, while pivotal in the Seahawks run to the first ever “Cold Weather” Super Bowl played at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey, did not necessarily have a breakout game against the Broncos. Lynch finished with 15 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown against the porous Broncos defense. But when his own team’s defense and special teams accounted for so much of Seattle’s victory, producing twenty-one points off Denver turnovers and a kick return for a touchdown in the opening moments following halftime, it’s understandable. To say he wasn’t a key contributor all season would be completely erroneous.

But in terms of media presence Marshawn Lynch had been notably silent in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. According to USA Today, Lynch kept all of his responses to the media to a minimum when addressing reporters, including an incredibly short stint at the podium earlier in the week:

“After six minutes and 20 seconds on a media day podium, the laid-back Marshawn Lynch decided he’d had enough,” an article posted on January 28th read. “The Seattle Seahawks running back retreated behind his Louis Vuitton sunglasses and a media day curtain to watch the circus from afar.”

But the idea that Lynch is shy in front of the cameras went away after the clock struck zero and the Seattle celebration began. According to ESPN.com, in addition to his much hyped about dance number, “he [also] talked to a group of friends, and told stories so loud that the punch line echoed down the hall.”

And Lynch may have even more reason to celebrate after it was announced earlier this week that an official partnership between Marshawn and the Wrigley owned Skittles company has been struck. It may just keep Lynch dancing all the way into the offseason.
