Jennifer Lawrence To Star In David O. Russell Biopic About Joy Mangano [Rumor]
Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly in talks to work with director David O. Russell in a biopic about business woman Joy Mangano.
This would be the third time the director and America’s favorite movie star do a movie together and it is sure to be another hit.
In the past three years Russell has had cinematic success with as many Oscar nominated films.
In 2010, The Fighter earned two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor (Christian Bale) and Best Supporting Actress Melissa Leo as well as a Golden Globe and Oscar nomination for Best Picture.
Jennifer Lawrence once again put David O. Russell on the road to the top industry awards with the Academy Awards nominated Silver Linings Playbook, in which she plays an emotionally disturbed widow — a role that earned her the Best Actress Oscar.
The 23-year-old has had a meteoric rise to stardom, especially following her casting as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games trilogy, which she has been filming for the past few years, in between making other David O. Russell films.
Late last year, not only saw Jennifer Lawrence continue the Hunger Games saga in the second installment Catching Fire, but her second film with Russell American Hustle in which she plays the slighted wife of con artist Irving Rosenfeld, Rosalyn, for which she received a Golden Globe and is also nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

In this new project, Jennifer Lawrence would play Joy Mangano — who is a regular at networks such as QVC — and went from rag to riches with clever inventions that made her a millionaire.
Mangano first became a national personality in the business world in 1989, when — tired of mopping floors the old way — she came up with the idea that would end up being called the Miracle Mop, which would last longer and be easier to wring out.
She convinced QVC executives to let her pitch it herself in a TV appearance that resulted in 18,000 mops selling in just 20 minutes, and ten years later, she sold her growing company to the parent company of Home Shopping Network.
By 2006, ABC reported that she was living in a 14-bedroom mansion.
The script — which is yet to be titled — is reportedly being written by Bridesmaids co-writer Annie Mumolo.
Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most sought after actresses of our time her success working with David O. Russell is on the path to becoming legendary.
