Weinergate Day 6: Congressman’s Staff Calls Cops on Reporters
As the scandal known as Weinergate drags on into its sixth day, a news station reports that Rep. Anthony Weiner’s staff called police on a reporter when she requested an interview and refused to leave the politician’s Capitol Hill office.
The account comes courtesy of CBS, and the network claims reporter Marcia Kramer “created quite the stir” at Weiner’s office. The station says the following interaction occurred between Kramer and press secretary David Arnold:
Kramer: “All I want is for him to say something to his constituents, the people who have to vote for him.”
Arnold: “I don’t think you can say he hasn’t said anything to his constituents. He spoke for nine hours yesterday.
Kramer: “But not to anyone in New York. You know, this is the sort of in-the-bunker in the capitol, not to anyone in New York.”
As of now, the beleagered congressman has denied sending the pic in a tweet to a 21-year-old Seattle student, but has stopped short of confirming the image of a man’s crotch did not belong to him.
