‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Instagram Teaser Briefly Introduces Quicksilver [Video]
The latest X-Men: Days of Future Past teaser has arrived on social media.
Although the extremely brief clip gives everyone a look at American Horror Story star Evan Peters as Quicksilver, you’ll miss him if you look away for even a second. He’s the guy you see wearing a police uniform behind the pane of shattering glass.
For those who don’t follow the X-Men movies or the comic books, Quicksilver is Magneto’s son and the Scarlet Witch’s twin brother. Since the character moves incredibly fast in the source material, Bryan Singer had to use a few tricks to make Peters look as though he’s zipping around at top speed. The director reportedly filmed the actor at 3,600 frames-per-second while covering him in bright lights.
“It was incredibly bright. A lot of the crew and Bryan, himself, got to wear sunglasses. And the actors had to keep their eyes open for a long, long time, with that bright light just blaring at you. It’s like the sun. It’s brighter than the sun. It’s right there in your eyes. But the end result is so worth it. You just power through it,” Peters explained.
He added, “I worked with Michael Fassbender. And he’s awesome. He’s amazing to work with. I worked with him and Hugh [Jackman] and James [McAvoy]. And… I won’t say any more. I worked with all of them. They are awesome. Seriously, the nicest people in the world, couldn’t have been more welcoming.”
The latest X-Men teaser also gives prospective moviegoers a quick look at Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Professor Xavier (James McAvoy), and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence). Speaking of Lawrence, it seems the actress can’t escape 70s fashion these days. Lawrence also donned some memorable outfits in American Hustle.
Check out the official synopsis for the upcoming superhero epic.
“The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past.’ The beloved characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from ‘X-Men: First Class’ in an epic battle that must change the past — to save our future.”
In addition to the actors mentioned above, X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Nicholas Hoult, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, and Peter Dinklage. Although Anna Paquin was originally slated to return as Rogue, her role was ultimately cut from the movie.
