Taylor Swift Wants Ed Sheeran To Win All The Awards
In Taylor Swift’s humble opinion, Ed Sheeran should win all the awards.
Although the “I See Fire” singer has some stiff competition for the Best New Artist award — Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves, Kendrick Lamar, and James Blake are also up for the honor — Swift thinks Sheeran should walk away with the trophy. In fact, she told Billboard that he should win it all.
“I want him to win everything he’s ever up for. He’s one of my favorite people on the planet. And he’s so talented and he’s worked so hard for it,” Taylor Swift told the publication.
The singer continued, “I think he would have amazing acceptance speeches. We toured together all year and I watched him every single night. He was just such a show-stopper.”
Taylor Swift spent a good part of 2013 touring with Ed Sheeran, an experience she seemed to seriously enjoy. The singer told Capital FM last year that hitting the proverbial road with the singer-songwriter was nothing short of a blast.
“I think for both of us being on tour together and being really close friends, it’s the most fun experience you could ever have,” Taylor Swift explained during last summer’s interview.
She added, “Everybody’s always really close on a tour, but if you start out and you’re already close, it just makes it less like work, having your friends out there. Especially the fact that he was coming out for this, because he didn’t have to fly out here just to join me.”
The Inquisitr previously reported that Ed Sheeran won’t seek Taylor Swift’s help for his sophomore effort. Since the pair joined forces for his debut record, the “A-Team” singer didn’t want to travel down the same musical road twice.
“I didn’t work with Taylor [Swift] on the album purely for the fact that we’ve done that already. We’re always going to perform together, we’re always going to write together [and] we’re always going to hang out. I just felt for this record I wanted to make a record that would surprise people and keep them intrigued,” Ed Sheeran explained earlier this month.
However, this doesn’t mean Sheeran isn’t taking Swift’s advice.
Sheeran added, “Whenever I finished a song, I’d send it to [Taylor Swift] to get her opinion. She’s heard all the songs and she’s a good judge of what’s good or not good.”
