Dean McDermott, Tori Spelling’s Husband, Enters Rehab, Is ‘Truly Sorry’

Dean McDermott, the troubled husband of Tori Spelling, has checked himself into rehab after it was discovered that he had cheated on her with another woman.

After weeks of rumors and headlines about his one night stand with a 28-year-old woman named Emily Goodhand, during his stay in Vancouver while promoting his cooking show Chopped Canada McDermott issued a statement via People:

“I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I’ve caused my family. I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues. I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves.”

The magazine says the 47-year-old is receiving intense treatment for his problems, however, he is able to leave the facility to visit with his wife, Tori Spelling and their four children.

E! News reported that on Saturday, Dean McDermott and Spelling were seen leaving a building that houses a rehab facility in Los Angeles.

Tori Spelling, former 90210 star and McDermott married in 2006 and have four very young children, Liam, 6, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 15 months.

The couple had their own reality TV show Tori and Dean broadcast on Oxygen.

The rumors of Dean McDermott’s the affair started around Christmas, when Us Weekly broke the news that the father of four had cheated on Spelling during a visit to his native Canada, while promoting the cooking competition show.

As the reports were making headlines, Tori Spelling was trying to save face, posting a photo of her kids opening Christmas presents on her blog and wishing followers a “Merry Christmas from the McDermotts.”

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that — not surprisingly — Tori Spelling is “devastated” over the affair and “much more heartbroken than anyone realized” about her husband.

The other woman in the case, Emily Goodhand spoke about meeting up with Dean McDermott:

“He told me he and Tori had a sexless marriage,” Goodhand told Us in an extensive interview. “I believed him.”

Tori Spelling has yet to comment publicly or address the affair in any way and is instead focusing on her children. She took the kids to Disneyland by herself and has been seen out in the town running errands and going to grab a bite with them.

There is not reference to Dean McDermott directly on Tori Spelling’s website, which focuses on lifestyle and family.
