Miley Cyrus To Star In Her Own ‘MTV Unplugged’ Installment

Miley Cyrus is set to be featured on MTV’s latest installment of “Unplugged” on January 29. For all of you who thought the year of Miley had ended in 2013, from what we’ve heard, it’s a new year and Miley’s only just getting started.

Miley is known for her elaborate performances and for her constant rebel state of mind. Many are curious as to how Miley will draw from her hard rocker tendencies and fuse it with the acoustic sound that “Unplugged” is known for.

“Miley’s vision for the performance is like nothing we’ve ever seen,” Amy Doyle, MTV’s executive VP of music and talent programming strategy, said in a news release. “I can say that this will easily be one of the most memorable ‘Unplugged’ performances to date.”

Miley Cyrus’ performances have definitely helped make her into a household name, whether it be good or bad. She shocked the world when she decided to light up a joint on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards in November. Many considered this act to be a bid for attention, and if that’s what she was aiming for, then she sure got it.

We of course can’t forget about her performance at the VMAs in August of 2013. The singer twerked on stage during her performance of the song “We Can’t Stop,” then turned it up a notch when Robin Thicke went onstage. The Inquisitr previously reported that while performing his hit song “Blurred Lines,” Thicke was joined by a gyrating Miley who wore nothing but a bra and nude underwear.

This raunchy performance shocked not only the audience, but all those watching the show from home. It drew attention to Cyrus in the most unfaltering way, though those who adore her stood by her. Even her father said “That’s still my Miley.”

According to the Huffington Post, “Unplugged” was one of the network’s most influential shows in the 1990s. It debuted in November 1989 and went on to feature artists like Paul McCartney, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Bob Dylan, Hole and Alanis Morissette. Many are curious as to how Miley will go about her “Unplugged” performance; I mean, who wouldn’t be. Just check out this photo Miley posted to her Instagram:

The photo features Miley Cyrus in a rather… interesting get-up. She’s practically nude besides some gloves, a scarf, some pasties and a bleach blonde wig. Then there is the fact that she’s wearing fake buck teeth… Is this a sign that fans can expect a wild experience from Cyrus during her “Unplugged” set? Guess we will just have to wait and see.
