Tom Brady: I Don’t Plan On Watching The Super Bowl

Tom Brady isn’t getting over his team’s heartbreaking loss in the AFC Championship Game.

In fact, the All-Pro quarterback said he can’t even bring himself to turn on the big game now that the Patriots have been eliminated.

“I don’t have much of a rooting interest, truthfully. Those games are hard to watch,” Brady told the Boston Herald.. “I don’t see myself sitting down to enjoy a football game or watch it. Our season is over. Truthfully, I could care less about watching a game. That’s pretty much how I feel.”

Tom Brady certainly didn’t have his best game in the loss to the Broncos. He missed on some throws, including an overthrow on a pass to Julian Edelman in the first quarter that likely would have been a touchdown.

“That’s one I think about that could certainly impact the outcome of the game from my standpoint. I need to hit that throw,” Brady said. “That’s a throw that I’m capable of and I make 9 out of 10 times and I didn’t make it yesterday. When you get in games like this and the margin of error is slim, you’ve got to make those plays and I didn’t make it.”

It was a disappointing end to the season for Tom Brady, who made the most of a mismatched corps of receivers. After leaving Wes Welker to free agency, Rob Gronkowski to a torn ACL, and Aaron Hernandez to prison, Brady was still able to lead the Patriots to a 12-4 record on the strength of Edelman, Amendola, and a handful of other no-name pieces.

In a postgame interview, Tom Brady insinuated that the team could use at least one big free agent acquisition in the offseason to bring another offensive weapon. Then next season maybe he won’t have to worry about watching the Super Bowl from his couch.
