Justin Bieber: ‘Hollywood Ain’t Gonna Save Your Singer,’ Former Coach Mama Jan Tells Fans To Pray

Published on: January 19, 2014 at 12:00 PM

Justin Bieber’s former vocal coach, Jan Smith, has urged fans to pray for the singer amid a rising tide of reports alleging the 19-year-old is abusing drugs, including “sizzurp,” also known as “lean,” as well as prescription pills including Xanax, alcohol, and weed.

The famed consultant took to Twitter on Saturday and rallied fans to support the teen star.

To be clear, Smith, who featured in 2011’s concert-movie Never Say Never with Bieber, didn’t confirm or deny the drug abuse claims.

Instead, Mama Jan , as she is known to artists such as — Rob Thomas, Ciara, Usher, The Band Perry, India Arie, and Drake — noted the accusatory climate surrounding the young star and instructed fans to pray.

Yes, that happened.

The Atlanta creative consultant was possibly alluding to comments made by Drake Bell, Joel McHale, Jared Padalecki, and the wider criticism that has kicked off after the 19-year-old’s Calabasas, California home was raided by police in connection with a now infamous egging incident .

Smith continued:

Almost immediately after the messages, a flurry of replies bombarded her asking whether or not Justin is an addict.

A sample of those exchanges follows:

Smith capped her evangelical session with a quote from the bible.

Although claims of Bieber’s alleged sizzurp, weed, and alcohol use surfaced last year, fresh reports from Radar Onlin e and TMZ allege the singer’s drug usage is now so regular it has prompted those closest to him to advise rehab.

Additionally, TMZ later posted an aerial shot of Justin’s skateboard half-pipe in the exterior grounds of his Calabasas pad.

One of the spray-painted images on the structure shows the words “Double Cup” positioned next to a Styrofoam cup.

Reportedly ‘double cup’ is code for “sizzurp” (“lean”) but with double the codeine. While it can’t be confirmed who painted those images – as Bieber often tags with friends, or even if images necessarily reflect reality – it’s a timely item.

Sizzurp is said to be a favorite among many on the hip-hop scene and is a mix of codeine, promethazine, alcohol, and soda.

Of its well known casualties, the rapper Lil Wayne revealed it was the cause of his visit to a hospital last March, while Atlanta MC Gucci Mane was admitted to a psychiatric ward back in September later admitting on Twitter that he had been addicted to “lean” for 10 years.

Meanwhile, rapper pal Lil Za has returned to Bieber’s home after he was arrested for felony drug possession when investigators found what they believe to be “Molly” – a purer form of Ecstasy – and Xanax, in his bedroom at the singer’s during the raid.

Authorities have said the Canadian star is “not connected” to the drugs found. Definitive test results are reportedly still to come.

Bieber’s high-tech home surveillance data and iPhone were taken by investigators under a felony search warrant to see if they reveal evidence supporting his neighbor’s claim that the singer threw eggs at his home on Thursday, January 9.

If the evidence does prove Bieber egged his neighbor’s home and allegedly caused $20,000 in damages, he could be charged with a felony.

Ending his three day online silence earlier on Saturday, the pop prince posted the first of 11 Instagrams, captioning it: “Snowboarding with the fellas,” before uploading three videos from Aspen, Colorado .

The singer also sent several tweets, one of which read “Great day (sic).”

Perhaps Mama Jan’s prayer-o-sphere worked after all.
