Senior Bowl 2014 Roster Dissed By AJ McCarron For NFL Draft Pick

The Senior Bowl 2014 roster probably won’t include AJ McCarron, who apparently feels he’s a top 20 pick for the NFL draft.

In a related report from the The Inquisitr, the latest football news may sour some NFL fans: Super Bowl 48 ticket prices are claimed to double from 2013. The NFL Network is also planning on making Thursday Night Football a bigger deal by taking away some of the games from Sunday night.

Some people claim the value of the Senior Bowl 2014 to a future NFL player is debatable. Apparently, former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron agrees with that assessment since he’ll be watching the game from home instead of on the field.

But why would McCarron dodge the 2014 Senior bowl? John Middlekauff is claiming it’s because the QB thinks he’s already a top 20 pick for the 2014 NFL draft:

Besides the possibility of an injury, McCarron might want to avoid looking bad when working with unfamiliar receivers. After all, people still remember how Tim Tebow was fumbling during his Senior Bowl practice sessions.

And it’s not like AJ is alone. CJ Mosley also made the decision to ditch Senior Bowl 2014. Again, the reason cited is because the All-American linebacker feels he’s secure for one of the top NFL draft picks and believes a team will pick him up during the first half of the first round.

But it’s not like all the major players are turning their invitations. The quarterback position for the Senior Bowl has already taken by Jimmy Garoppolo. According to NFLDraftScout.com, he’s number nine for overall quarterback and number three as the Senior Bowl quarterback. He also won the 2013 Walter Payton Award for throwing 5,050 yards and 53 touchdowns. NFL scouts are already seeing he’s one of the top 100 prospects for the 2014 NFL Draft.
