Octomom Says Not Guilty To Welfare Fraud, Nadya Suleman Defends Stripping And Porn Wages

Octomom says she’s not guilty of welfare fraud. Nadya Suleman says her porn and stripping wages while on welfare are ok.

In a related report from The Inquisitr, Octomom recently faced the possibility of homelessness after her landlord threatened eviction.

Octomom is set to go to court on charges she illegally received payments from welfare by not disclosing almost $30,000 in income from stripping appearances and porn video royalties. At question is the $16,481 she received from local aid programs during the same time period.

Ms. Suleman is being prosecuted on one count of aid by misrepresentation and two counts of perjury by false application for aid. If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of five years and eight months in jail. While Octomom has not been arrested, she was ordered to appear before a LA County judge for arraignment.

This morning, Ms. Suleman plead not guilty to the charges, and was released after the arraignment. Bill Clark, Deputy District Attorney hinted there is a bit of hope for Octomom after all:

“If she can pay the money back, that makes a big difference.”

Deputy DA Clark also announced that the case is set to go to disposition court, which will resolve the issue without a trial.

So what exactly was Octomom trying to accomplish with all these actions (i.e.-the fraud, porn and stripping)?

“It’s my dream to build a business empire that will pay for food, shelter and college educations for my 14 children. I’ve got to win the battle, but right now, people don’t understand that.”

But Gina Rodriguez, representative for Octomom, seemed to be disagreeing with her client:

“This is not a new career for her. She is just promoting her new video.”

So while “it’s not a new career for her” she did make a porn video, then went on to strip to promote the video, but it’s not a new direction for her? Color this writer confused. Octomom also tried filing for bankruptcy, but the case was dismissed due to paperwork problems. How this all adds up to a “business empire” is anyone’s guess.
