Orlando Bloom Joins “Hobbit” Production, Returns To Middle Earth
Orlando Bloom has signed on for a role in The Hobbit where he will continue his Lord Of The Rings role as Legolas the elf.
Peter Jackson announced the actors involvement on Friday via Facebook:
“Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character…. I’m excited to announce today that we’ll be revisiting Middle Earth with him once more. I’m thrilled to be working with Orlando again.”
You may recall that Bloom’s first major role was in the “LOTR” trilogy before he moved on to the Pirates franchise with Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley and then various other projects.
Bloom recently revisited completed filming for Paul W.S. Anderson’s retelling of The Three Musketeers which will reach theaters on October 14.
For the first Hobbit movie we’ll have to wait until December 2012 with the second movie following one year later.
