Lady Gaga: Marijuana Is Addictive, Legal Weed Not A Good Idea?
According to Lady Gaga, marijuana legalization may not be the best bet since she feels it’s addictive.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the famous pop star has been known for dressing up as the Cannabis Queen and she’s even lit up a fatty onstage in full view of the fans. At the same time, she apparently has been suffering from depression and she’s smoked weed to make herself feel young again:
“I want to live and I want my fans to live. I don’t want them to torture themselves in the way I have. I was just numbing, numbing, numbing myself then sleeping it off, then getting on stage, killing it in pain, then getting off and smoking, smoking, smoking, not knowing what the pain was. F*** if I know what hurts the most, you know? I would break the habit and it would sneak back in and I would break it and sneak back in.”
Since Lady Gaga started openly talking about the problems with recreational marijuana the political landscape in America has undergone some drastic changes. While everyone knows about New York and Colorado at this point (including a CNN reporter who got high on the job), both Florida and Tennessee have taken steps toward legal marijuana. But the great white state of Alaska plans on making recreational marijuana legal, as well, if voters have their way.
Of course, all this is very controversial and even has Christian churches divided over whether smoking pot is a sin. But it’s an interesting day indeed when pastors and Lady Gaga can unite and agree on at least one thing: marijuana addiction is possible and thus cannabis should be avoided.
“I have been addicted to it and it’s ultimately related to anxiety coping and it’s a form of self-medication and I was smoking up to 15 or 20 marijuana cigarettes a day with no tobacco. I was living on a totally other psychedelic plane, numbing myself completely. I just want young kids to know that you actually can become addicted to it, and there’s this sentiment that you can’t and that’s actually not true.”
Interestingly enough, one medical poll showed that 76 percent of doctors agree with medical marijuana. And other general polls show Americans support marijuana legalization efforts. Never mind, big business is already crowding in on the rush to make big marijuana the next big tobacco.
Do you agree with Lady Gaga that marijuana is addictive and thus potentially dangerous?
