Is Ultimate Warrior VS Hulk Hogan or even Ultimate Warrior VS Brock Lesnar possible for the WWE’s WrestleMania 30?
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Ultimate Warrior’s WWE Hall Of Fame announcement was the first for 2014 .
The last time we saw Hulk Hogan VS Ultimate Warrior was during a feature event called The Ultimate Challenge at WrestleMania 6. This was way before the WWE, and was a WWF World Championship match. Ultimate Warrior won over the Hulk and became the only wrestler to hold both the WWF World Championship and Intercontinental Championship at the same time. And even the wrestler himself remembers it as being special … just not that special:
“I have a lot of great memories, including my match against Randy [Savage] in WrestleMania VII. A lot of people say they enjoyed that more than the Hogan match. The Hogan match had so much meaning that it’s impossible not to list among my favorites, but I had all kinds of incredible matches against guys like Rick Rude and André the Giant.”
Another interesting tidbit is that Hulk and Warrior barely had any time to go over the match:
“Because of our tour schedules, Hogan and I only had about 45 minutes to go over the match. We met in an old barn-like place where they used to train pro wrestlers down in Tampa and walked through what we were going to do…. It was an incredible match—all the excitement, all the drama of the false finishes, and then the first time Hogan lost clean, and that really meant something. Of course, everything is choreographed, but that speaks even more strongly about what type of impact The Ultimate Warrior was going to have on the business.”
Unfortunately, a personal disagreement over money ended the career of the Ultimate Warrior. Vince McMahon eventually had James Brian Hellwig suspended and he pretty much disappeared from the scene, although the WWE produced a Ultimate Warrior DVD in 2005 that was so unflattering it led to a lawsuit.
So far, all we know for certain about the Ultimate Warrior’s WrestleMania 30 involvement is that he’ll be inducted in to the WWE Hall Of Fame. But it’s possible McMahon could have something else up his sleeve. Months ago there was a rumor that WrestleMania 30 could have Ultimate Warrior VS Brock Lesnar, and the rumor mill claims McMahon was heavily considering it in order to make the 30 year celebration special.
But is this even possible? While Brock Lesnar’s UFC career is likely over due to his health conditions , Ultimate Warrior says he’s in excellent physical condition even at 54 years old:
“I’m still very intense, I’m still in great shape, and the way the business is today, I think something could be arranged. But that 90s version of The Ultimate Warrior can’t be done. He’s my muse. I wake up every morning and I’m inspired by him, but trying to go back and bring him back 25 years later, there’s just no way.”
As in, no Royal Rumble for the Ultimate Warrior. The older rumors claimed Ultimate Warrior would take on Undertaker, but of course the same thing was said more recently about a Lesnar VS Undertaker match up . There’s also the rumor that WrestleMania 30 could have the Hulk back if Roddy Piper has his way:
“There continues to be internal discussion regarding a possible Hulk Hogan involvement at Wrestlemania 30. ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper has pushed for an idea of a Hulk Hogan and John Cena vs. Piper and CM Punk Wrestlemania match.”
Roddy also took to Twitter to propose Piper VS Hulk:
Dare you to put Hogan vs Piper! Separate the men from the Boys!

Unfortunately, while the Brock Lesnar match might be possible it seems less likely we’ll ever see Ultimate Warrior VS Hulk Hogan again since the WWE “does not believe Hogan could pass a physical.” At the same time, some websites claim “there is now a deal in place for Hulk Hogan to return to WWE and he’s expected to sign any time now.” Which WrestleMania 30 match up would you rather see?
