Ashlee Simpson And Evan Ross Are Engaged

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross are about to make music royalty history. Ross, who’s the son of Diana Ross, and Simpson, who is the sister of Jessica Simpson are set to get hitched. The two haven’t made too many public appearances together. One of their most recent public appearances together was back in November for the The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere. Ross will be seen in the next installment The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

The happy couple decided to share the news of their engagement on Twitter. At the time, Simpson clearly elated wrote “My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii!!!!!” as a caption to a perfectly posed photo which more than shows off Simpson’s new bling.

Just in November Simpson opened up about her love with Evan Ross. “I am really happy,” said the 29-year-old former pop star during an event at the House of Blues. It was then that their “summer love” seemed to be getting pretty serious.

In addition to his acting credit in a major blockbuster, Evan Ross was also in Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story, and the independent Duplass Brothers hit Jeff, Who Lives at Home. As for Ashlee Simpson, the singer released an album called Bittersweet World in 2008 but wasn’t a huge hit like her debut album, which was tied in to her former reality show on MTV.

Of his new Hunger Games gig, Ross said:

“It’s mind-blowing. When they called I was like, ‘Are you kidding?’ They said, ‘You got Hunger Games. You want to do it?’ I was like, ‘Is that a question?'”

For Evan Ross this is the first marriage for the 25-year-old. As for Simpson this will be the second marriage for the former singer, who shares a five-year-old son, Bronx, with Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. The pair divorced after three years of marriage.
