Outkast, Foo Fighters Added To Firefly Fest
Fans of the hip hop duo Outkast better brace themselves because the duo is taking the festival circuit by storm. On the heels of their 40 date tour, it’s been announced that Outkast will join the Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, and Imagine Dragons for the Firefly festival.
The Firefly festival is one performance in addition to the forty concert dates that the duo promised that they would embark on just the other day. Outkast comprised of Andre 3000 and Big Boi will headline the four-day Firefly festival from June 19-22 at The Woodlands at Dover International Speedway in Delaware. In addition to the acts listed above, the duo will join Amos Lee, Arctic Monkeys, Band of Horses, Childish Gambino, G- Eazy, Girl Talk, and more.
As for Outkast’s reunion this is due to their 20th anniversary as a musical act. The duo made the announcement on Monday right after it was announced that they were opening the Coachella festival.
On their announcement Big Boi said via a statement:
“It’s truly an honor to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose. Don’t just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I’m looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans – stank you smelly much, this is for y’all!”
The duo even took to their official Facebook page to announce the exciting news:
Outkast will return to the stage with a full festival run of over 40 dates to celebrate 20 years since Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik!
Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting Outkast.” – Andre 3000
I’m looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans – stank you smelly much, this is for y’all!” – Big Boi
