Justin Bieber House Raided By LA Sheriffs Over Neighbor ‘Egg Attack’ [Video]
Justin Bieber’s Calabasas, Calif. house has been raided by Los Angeles County Sheriffs deputies as part of a continuing investigation into the egging of his neighbor’s house last week.
Numerous patrol cars entered onto the 19-year-old’s $6.5 million property at 08:00 am PT executing a felony search warrant CNN reports.
.Although Sheriff’s Spokesman Steve Whitmore would not disclose to CNN how many cars were sent to the house, TMZ reports 11.
Bieber has been named as a main suspect in a misdemeanor vandalism and assault investigation after a neighbor accused him of throwing eggs at his house.
It’s also alleged the teen singer aimed eggs at the homeowner and his 13-year-old daughter, as they watched from a second floor balcony and videotaped the incident on Thursday night, January 9.
Citing sources, TMZ reports the focus of the deputies search is finding physical evidence that definitively links the “Boyfriend” star to the egg assault on his neighbor.
This seems to indicate authorities are building a felony case against Justin. If charged and found guilty under felony the pop prince could be looking at incarceration for over one year in a state or federal prison.
The decisive move by sheriffs is likely linked to the $20,000 damages estimate submitted (Jan. 13) by the accusing neighbor.
Reportedly it includes a $15,000 repair for allegedly damaged exterior venetian plaster and $5,000 for other items.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Don Prince told CNN if the eggs caused more than $950 in damages a misdemeanor can be upped to a felony.
Police looked for a range of items in the search, specifically video surveillance equipment, but they were on the hunt for anything that could link the singer to the neighbor’s egging.
The intention of early morning raids is surprising a target so they cannot hide incriminating evidence. Given the numerous rumors of Bieber’s alleged weed use, if police find drugs or related paraphernalia the young star could be liable.
Whitmore revealed Sunday that Bieber would not talk to deputies. Now, police have evidently come to him.
TMZ updated their site 26 minutes after the raid commenced adding police were detaining the singer in his garage during the search.
