Justin Bieber Memo: Don’t Allegedly Throw $20K Eggs At Expensive Houses

Update: Justin Bieber’s Calabasas, Calif’s house was raided by Los Angeles sheriffs on Tuesday morning under a felony search warrant in connection to an egg-throwing incident last week.

Bieber has made a lot of money through hard work, and now lives in a luxurious house in Calabasas, Calif. So too does the neighbor whose home the teen star allegedly pelted with eggs. And therein lies the $20,000 rub.

According to TMZ, that’s the ballpark figure the neighbor has put on the damage done when his house was egged on Thursday night, January 9.

The complainant claims he and his 13-year-old daughter watched from their balcony while Justin allegedly threw raw missiles at them and their front door.

In a salty video posted by the gossip website the 19-year-old isn’t seen, but an expletive-laden exchange between the neighbor and a voice – allegedly Bieber’s, threatening to unleash more eggs – has been heard around the world.

The singer has so far declined to speak to Los Angeles County Sheriffs about being named as a suspect in a misdemeanor vandalism and assault investigation, Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said Sunday.

Because of this it’s not known if provocation played a role in the egging, but the neighbor has had run-ins with Bieber before.

The Canadian hasn’t contacted the neighbor since the incident and hasn’t been charged, but authorities are reportedly eager to wrap the case quickly. To that end, the damages estimate is crucial as it will determine whether the charge is a felony or misdemeanor.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Don Prince explained to CNN it could be felony vandalism if the eggs caused more than $400 in damages. Investigators will then decide whether or not the video, photos, and eyewitness testimony evidence is sufficient to pass the case on to the district attorney’s office for possible prosecution, he added.

While eyebrows might query the astronomical repair sum, in an area like Calabasas and other wealthy Los Angeles districts, mansions will tend to have high-end doors, furnishings, and expensive features like exterior venetian plaster such as Bieber’s neighbor’s house.

Indeed, Justin’s own house in the gated The Oaks enclave was valued at $6.5 million when he bought it back in 2012. A sample of the kind of residents attracted to Calabasas and the neighboring Hidden Hills includes – Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, and his children, Tommy Lee, Gary Sinise, the Kardashian clan, Jennifer Lopez, Miramax head Ron Tutor, Beau Bridges, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and a seemingly disproportionate number of former-NFL players.

One such player, Keyshawn Johnson, claimed he saw Bieber speeding around Calabasas last May. The subsequent police investigation was eventually aborted after a security video appeared to show another individual driving the singer’s Ferrari.

Rewinding further to March, a neighbor – thought to be the egging accuser – alleged Bieber spat on and threatened him during an row over his alleged speeding. Prosecutors declined to press battery charges last October.

However, it’s likely Bieber’s run of near misses with L.A. authorities could soon be coming to an end, although for the moment the official language is still “allegedly.”

Neither the singer or his representative, Melissa Victor, have yet commented on the egging incident or ongoing investigation.

Justin posted several Instagrams of new tattoos inked since the weekend, while urging his 48 million plus Twitter followers to, “Make it about the music.”
