Kate Gosselin’s Daughters Insist Their Mom Didn’t Mess Them Up
Kate Gosselin’s daughters insist their mom hasn’t messed them up or ruined their lives.
Cara and Mady Gosselin are no doubt privy to the sort of stuff the public — including their father — says about Kate these days. Since the guy insists that her parental skills are more than a little questionable, the twins decided to address countless rumors that their existence is a Lifetime original movie waiting to happen.
“People expect us to be damaged… It’s so false. We’re fine. We’re better than ever, actually,” Cara recently explained to the folks at People magazine.
Mady added, “People think we’re supposed to be messed up, like, ‘Oooooh, the poor Gosselin kids, they’re going to be scarred for life, waaaaah.’ Here’s the big news: we’re not messed up.”
Kate Gosselin’s daughters added that their mom is frequently annoying on purpose just to get under their skin. Mady explained that this often involves Kate mispronouncing certain words on purpose. Despite all the drama that’s surrounded the family over the years, the girls appear normal and pretty well-adjusted.
“I wish they were a little more innocent in some ways. They’re savvy, and they’ve learned things about the world and people’s intentions that took me decades to learn,” Gosselin told the magazine.
She continued, “They’re more aware of their surroundings and can size you up with a glance. They’re nobody’s fools.”
One person who thinks Kate is doing a pretty poor job raising her kids is Jon Gosselin. During a recent interview with Philadelphia Magazine, the father of eight took issue with his ex-wife’s parenting skills. This includes Kate’s penchant for posting a lot of her personal business on social media.
“She tweets everything. To the world, all about my children. I think it’s disgusting and awful. They can’t even have a normal life, Kate wants to still be on television. She’s now digging into the past, because that’s what sells. Too late, honey. No one gives a f***, really,” he said.
While they didn’t come right out and say it, chances are Kate Gosselin’s daughters sat down with People magazine to defend their mom. Kate has yet to respond to her ex-husband’s unflattering critique of her parenting skills as of this writing.
