AJ McCarron’s Mother Makes ‘Racist Tweet’ Over Jameis Winston, Katherine Webb FAVs It
AJ McCarron’s mother, Dee Dee McCarron, caused quite a controversy when she Tweeted an allegedly racist tweet about Jameis Winston. But now even McCarron’s girlfriend, Katherine Webb, is coming under fire for the incident.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Katherine Webb’s facial expression upon AJ McCarron’s loss became an instant meme.
Winston became emotional when speaking and he stuttered and used phrases like, “We champions.” In an apparent response to this speech, AJ McCarron’s mother tweeted, “Am I listening to English?”
People on Twitter reacted badly to this joke, accusing her of racism. While Dee Dee deleted the Tweet, she also issued an apology:
“Any1 that knows our family knows we r far from racist. My tweet was not in anyway meant that way. I sincerely apologize if it offended any1.”
But then AJ McCarron’s girlfriend, Katherine Webb, became entangled in the controversy when it was noticed that she’d favorited Dee Dee’s tweet. When people began to accuse Webb of supporting racist behavior, she tweeted:
“The idea that I am a racist is absolutely stupid and it needs to stop. I was scrolling through my TL and that tweet was accidentally FAV.”
The response was quick and accusatory:
“You’re hot but you’re a liar. You don’t just favorite a tweet by accident.”
Katherine stuck to her guns, pointing out how the favorite button happens to be close to where people scroll:
@kuckie456 oh yes you do. The friggin buttons are right under the actual tweet! Happens all the time

As you can see, there were others who defended her argument.
AJ McCarron, for his part, has been silent about the controversy swirling around Dee Dee McCarron and Katherine Webb. Do you think the tweet was “racist” or just a bad joke overblown by the media?
