Take your rain boots and slicker with you to work today and stay alert. The National Weather Service just issued a Tornado Watch for several parts of Chicago as well as central and eastern Illinois until 1pm CDT.
This is only the first of several lines of severe storms predicted for these regions throughout the day. Thunderstorms will continue into Thursday and possibly last through the Memorial weekend as the storm system creeps through making its way towards eastern Indiana.
The rain and low visibility has already caused airlines at O’ Hare International Airport to cancel more than 400 flights.
