Jerry Seinfeld Teases New Project During Reddit AMA, Could Be ‘Seinfeld’ Movie
Jerry Seinfeld announced a big new project he’s working on, leading to speculation online that he could be rounding up the gang for a Seinfeld movie.
The comedian was doing an “Ask Me Anything” session with fans on Reddit in part to promote the third season of his web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, which premiered last week featuring Louis CK.
During the session, Jerry said that he and Seinfeld co-creator Larry David are working on a new project that he described as “huge.”
Jerry Seinfeld noted:
We wrote this script for this thing that you will eventually see but I can’t reveal what it is at this time. All I can do is tell you is that it’s big, huge, gigantic.
The comedian didn’t give any more details on the nature of the project (though Yahoo! speculated that it could be a Seinfeld movie), but Jerry did speak about how much he missed the days of his hit NBC sitcom.
Working with the cast was pure heaven for me. We were as well suited to each other as it seems when you watch the show. We enjoyed each other’s company enormously. That was one of the big things that made the show work, I think.
Ideas of a Seinfeld reunion movie have intrigued Jerry in the past. This summer a fan-made posted that inserted the iconic fake movies (like Chunnel and Rochelle Rochelle) using movie stars from today earned the approval of Jerry himself.
But for all the speculation, in reality a Seinfeld movie would likely be a long-shot. Jerry Seinfeld has now had 15 years to revisit the series, but seems quite content in his post-sitcom career of stand-up comedy and web shows.
