Katy Perry Headed To Sin City? Residency Could Have Her ‘Waking Up In Vegas’
While Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” tells us that “nothing comes close to the golden coast,” the pop star might be trading in Tinseltown for Sin City, reports say.
The Las Vegas Sun’s Robin Leach says Katy Perry is being courted by the big wigs at Caesars Entertainment for a standing gig at Planet Hollywood’s Axis theater when Britney Spears is taking a break from her two-year stint of more than 100 shows.
“I was reliably told that Katy and her team met with the Caesars officials when she played a secret show for their high rollers Tuesday night. ‘We would love it if we could welcome Katy to the new Planet Hollywood theater,’ one entertainment VP told me,” Leach said.
Perry was in town to play the show New Year’s Eve, after which she and boyfriend-singer-songwriter John Mayer hosted a midnight private party for Dom Perignon at the new David Furnish and Elton John champagne lounge Fizz at Caesars, according to the Sun. That bit of indulgence is understandable considering the amount of roughage Katy Perry is packing away these days.
TMZ reportedly got a hold of Katy Perry’s tour rider for the Vegas show and it’s all rabbit food, all the time. Her dressing room requirements include:
- fresh organic grown fruit (including sliced pineapple, mango, kiwis, etc)
- fresh cut crudites (cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, snap peas & celery… plus ranch dip)
- healthy granola
- dried figs
- whole grain tortilla chips
- large bowl hummus
- fresh made guacamole
It looks like all those years in Candy Land may have put Perry into sugar shock. Does this mean Perry’s patented frosting boobs are going to start shooting out some kind of healthy, organic smoothie?
While many media outlets have described Perry’s rider as demanding and used three-letter buzzphrases (OMG, WTF), this actually seems fairly reasonable. Katy’s beau Mayer is the one who allegedly requires a bottle of Lagavulin 16 at each stop.
