Ariana Grande: Haters, Miley Cyrus The Subject Of Singer’s Backlash
The Ariana Grande haters out there, as well as Miley Cyrus, have been dissed right back. The “Baby I” singer may be getting tired of people putting her down, but partly thanks to her friends, she isn’t letting them keep her down.
Haters are the people on the internet, and sometimes in the real world, who only show up to tell you how much you don’t need to exist. As internet megastar and Star Trek alumni George Takei has pointed out, most haters and trolls are just unhappy people who want everybody else to feel as bad as they do. Unfortunately, many of us just attack them back and begin a never-ending cycle which ends with us only being more angry, and because of that, they win.
Ariana Grande‘s haters are being equated with Miley Cyrus, who probably has just as many haters herself. Ariana has come away from it brilliantly, telling them all:
“I’m a lot [more shy] than people think. I don’t go online when I’m dealing with sh*t. This is a very amazing time in my life, but also the most stressful. I’m adjusting and I’m learning. For a very long time it affected me. And I was like, ‘But they don’t know the story!’ or ‘But they don’t know me!'”
Ariana sniped right back at the random haters, “My friends were like, ‘That’s the thing. They don’t know you and they never will. You can’t let a 12-year-old in Minnesota ruin your day.'”
In regards to haters, Ariana Grande and her friends have a point. Those random people who try to bring you down don’t even know you. They don’t know what you’re going through, and as a teen in the music industry, not many people know that better than Ariana.
In a separate interview, Miley Cyrus had mentioned meeting Ariana once backstage:
“I don’t have a bunch of celeb friends, because I feel like some of them are a little scared of the association. This is terrible. I was backstage with Ariana Grande. I’m like, ‘Walk out with me right now and get this picture, and this will be the best thing that happens to you, because just you associating with me makes you a little less sweet.'”
That is probably the last thing Ariana needs right now. Miley had apparently made herself one of the Ariana Grande haters by technically telling the teen that she needed to put some dirt in her image for the masses, and the best way to do that was to be seen with her. To paraphrase, Miley Cyrus told Ariana that she was better.
It seems Ariana didn’t listen, and her fans are probably grateful for that.
